busy as a bee

does life ever stop being busy?

this summer has been the busiest of my life.. i think. or atleast has had the most things happen in 3 months. i didn't really want to post this since i know there are people out there who are way busier than me but this blog is about me... so here goes.

planning for a wedding was horrible (in my opinion), but the honeymoon afterwords made it not so bad. because you knew you could do whatever you want with the person you love. downtime, sort of. well not so much in my case. my husband considers vacations as a time to explore, and so do i... sometimes. we went to hawaii (i've started making a post with pictures but i dont have all of them and i dont really remember all the places we went.. :) ) on a cruise but didnt spend anytime on the boat because we were too busy hiking and driving all over the islands.

when we got home, babysitting started back up right away. i babysit all through the year, teach during the day, but summertime i was on for the whole day (i babysit a boy with down syndrome and his sister) try babysitting for 8 hours 5 days a week and making things up for them to do... not fun. busyness

then came my husbands sisters wedding, i was the maid of honor. it was really cute. they had it in their parents backyard and afterwords it was a pool party!

so my life was already busy enough when life threw me a twist. the school i work for closed. bam... no job. sigh. since sitting around and feeling bad for yourself doesn't do much but start fights encouraging conversations what can you do but jump right into trying to find another job. that's been my life this whole summer, trying to find a job. not fun, as many of you know.

my family and us just recently went to LBI, NJ for some fun in the sun. even tho my husband and i only went for 3 days it still was great to get away...

in the end.. having a busy life is better then having a boring one i guess..
what's that you say? quit complaining? yea i know :)

After the Wedding

So it happened... its done and over with...

and I'm MARRIED!

Man.. it was a whirlwind of crazy.
1. grandpa died a week before
2. had the wake and funeral all beforehand
3. on to the wedding (we were all very at peace after he passed and thank god for that)
4. bachelorette party... fun swimming night and slept over a hotel
5. had the rehearsal dinner, after the part where we had to talk in front of everyone it got good (i hate talking in front of other people)
6. wedding day:
-get up at 5 am
-get hair done at 6 am
-get to the wedding place
-get makeup done
-get some pictures of getting ready
-go get married
-have a receiving line ( i would totally recommend this! it saves time instead of you having to meet and greet during dinner and dancing)
-get quick pictures done (not happy about that)
-eat dinner and dance!

i'm so glad its over!

3 more days

My single life is coming to a close. 3 more days and i'm taken!
I've heard the week before your wedding most people become like bridezilla, crazy with last minute details and emotions running high.
hahaha... this picture is awesome...

anyways... i might consider myself one... but i have reasons for being any bit emotional. my grandpa just passed away on Friday (my bachelorette party in Pitt) so we quickly packed everything and left the next day (we were going to leave Tuesday) got to CT and the past 2 days have been a whirlwind of having the wake and funeral.

it's not as bad as i thought it would be... really. and this isn't a pity party for me.. its just a crazy thing that happened in my life and i wanted to share how real life gets sometimes.

it's really peaceful knowing he's in heaven...

he's just been through a lot and suffered a lot. so we were pretty much ready.

but now that its over and i have peace, we can move onto happier times. my family has been really supportive and try to make me feel like my wedding will be the best.

so thats where i've been. any one else have a crazy thing happen before their wedding?
anyone else go crazy and hate their wedding dress the week before the wedding? no? just me?

goings on

what's going on right now? in my last 12 days of being single:

making my last official wedding guest list over and over again. making sure i have everyone on it... calling people who didn't respond: i must say... i didnt have that many people not respond. My married friends all said they had so many people who didn't and it was annoying. i guess its a little annoying but i cant really say much cuz i may have been one of those people.
finishing bridesmaid gifts.... i finally got ink! now onto some printing of these: Frame
find the right foundation - these were my directions: go to macy's, find the mac makeup counter, get them to find my right color. this is the first time i'll have the right match.
get a makeup trial by my new makeup artist! i wimped out and opted to have a friend do my makeup since im not perfect and she did her own wedding makeup and she looked awesome.

buy honeymoon clothes - new fav store: forever 21
small things like:
~buy makeup primer
~finish tanning
~dye hair - maybe
~buy foundation
~try to get smaller wedding shoes
~honeymoon stuff to pack

we'll see how far i get for tomorrow! busy busy busy...

15 days

sorry for not posting...
i'm really busy with my wedding being only 15 days away and all...

everyone keeps asking if i'm excited/nervous.. i'm not sure how i feel. i feel happy to finally be getting married to my best friend. but other than that i hate attention so i just want it to get here and have fun and be over with!

what i am excited for is:
-time off from school
-time with my family in CT
-being able to see my fiance for more than 4 days a week!
-good food
-dancing
-awesome relaxing vacation/honeymoon!

i've noticed i'm not very good with planning and getting things done. at this point, if its not done and doesn't get done soon i'm not going to bother with it. in the end i dont want to go crazy making sure everything is perfect. i want to be able to actually enjoy this time!

i really want to make a list of all of the things gone wrong (there's alot!) but you dont need me complaining so i'll try to look on the bright side and thank God for all the things gone right:

-my fiance getting his internship
-going on 2 awesome honeymoons (Cancun & Hawaii) that are already paid for!
-someone surprised us and got us a ride from the reception to our hotel (CT to NY)
-the wedding is in CT at an amazing hall
-i got a substitute for 2 whole weeks!
-my fiance got his groomsmen gifts all set (and i didnt really have to ask!)

Getting Married in: 32 days... holy crap. where did the time go? it was just 5 months ago and i was saying how slow it was taking to get there and now all of a sudden i have no time and its going fast!

cutest idea ever

this idea was too cute to not post...... smore kit for favors!
i'm in love and hoping it can someway somehow work out.....

Calling my bridesmaids:

so i need some help if you have time and i know some of you said you'd like to help so here are some things:
-suggestions for favors
-songs to play at my wedding!
-things you liked at other weddings
-hairstyles (for me and you!)
-centerpiece suggestions
-anything else you can think of!

I just bought my invitations:
(and i'm so excited about them! they are just elegant looking without having to fuss about it matching colors)

and my wedding bands so things are starting to pick up!

(it would be pretty sweet if some of you got blogs and wrote in them (emilie)! They are so easy to keep and it would be easy to share our ideas and pictures and stuff... please!

p.s. i am in the midst of choosing my specific colors for your dresses, its hard because the ones i like have limited dress choices on davids bridal. here's what i'm thinking: clover and juniper and i'm thinking yes!
-Can the CT peeps help me look for hotels near monroe or trumbull that are nice and cheap at the same time?

Thanks guys! Congrats to Jamie getting engaged!! Yay!cute couple!

wedding stuff

since i am engaged and on my way to getting married i figured i would blog about what i have done to get ready for it.

my first decision was the wedding hall. which is amazing and my favorite thing! i can't believe how blessed and lucky i was to bag this place:
The Waterview
so its great. and i have it already booked so that takes a big weight off my shoulders.
i'm a procrastinator so i am surprised that i have this checked off my list.

next thing i finished off my list was my dress. i wanted to be unique and completely different from the hundreds of friends that have been married before me. ok so its not really hundreds but its close. was i able to find one unique and looking good on me? no. this dress is beautiful and my favorite but it is not as unique as i wanted it. oh well. i'm picky and things didnt look right on me so .. here were my favs:

this backless dress

beach dress
v-neck dress
lace dress
so which one do u think i choose?
now i've chosen my invitations but i have yet to order them. these are all such big decisions and i can't believe how many i've made. i've also got my registry going which is the funnest thing in the world right now. i love putting things on a registry and thinking about where i'll put it in my house!
